The Wizard of Oz
through Missoula Children’s Theater

The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents The Wizard of Oz! The story is as familiar as it is beloved. That nasty tornado carries Dorothy and her canine pal Toto from the friendly confines of her Kansas home to a fabled fantasy of mystery in the land of Oz. Our story begins with the Illusionists who set the scene for the tale you are about to witness. With the help of the Munchkins and Glinda herself, the young Miss Gale and her loyal pooch join forces with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and, of course, the Cowardly Lion. Off they go down the Yellow Brick Road–side-stepping a Wicked Witch and her ferocious Kalidahs, Sprouts that are far nicer-looking than they act, and the loyal Green Guard–on their perilous journey to find the Wizard and ask for his help. For they are sure his Wizness will grant their wishes and send Dorothy and Toto back to their home–or will he? We’ll never tell. Come see for yourself.
Auditions are open to anyone Grade K (2024-25) through 18. The audition process lasts up to two hours and all those auditioning are required to be in attendance for its entirety. No preparation or experience is necessary for the audition. The cast will be announced at the end of the two-hour audition; each cast member will receive a rehearsal schedule for the remainder of the week. A portion of the cast will be required to stay following auditions for a 2 hour rehearsal. Two professional actor/directors from the staff of Missoula Children’s Theatre will direct the production.
Rehearsals will be held the remainder of the week. There will be two sessions, depending on your role you may be required to attend both sessions. A schedule will be given following auditions. Anyone who auditions should make sure their schedule is clear, as full attendance is mandatory! Performances are on Friday evening and Saturday morning in the ZMHS Auditorium.

Tickets for each performance will be $5 for adults and $3 for students.
